LAUGHTER!

      Children are more likely than adults to laugh.  This isn’t something I’m just making up, after research adults found that while children can laugh upwards of 400 times a day adults laugh closer to only 15.  In my opinion this is because children are more care free, they don’t yet have the responsibility and stress that comes with adulthood.   But perhaps that is only the simplest part, children are not only innocent but maybe they have less evil.  It’s not as if with age we become darker, it’s the things experienced that make you worse.  Adults and teens become desensitized to things around them, someone is attacked or hurt everyday, with that realization it can become harder to laugh.  But something’s that children laugh at aren’t really funny, really they are cruel, and watching someone in pain may be found more hilarious then a joke to some children.  So I cant draw a real conclusion to this subject. I think it goes both ways, adults don’t laugh at pain as much, because they have seen too much.  And children still find pain funny, which doesn’t make them more evil just much less experienced.  Laugher is not a definite way to judge happiness, but just a way to see how much experience and hardship one has gone through to get where they are. 

The B Book

I can't even remember how young I was when this book was introduced to me. My mom gave me the "B Book" by Dr. Suess, though the basic story doesn’t seem to have much content; it still had a deep meaning to my young self. The reason it is title the B Book, is because every word until the last word starts with a B. My favorite character was the bunny with a bundle of banana bread. The last words were the ones with the most meaning, because after an entire short story book breaking the constant pattern of B after B, really struck me. The final character introduced was a bird, and he has a balloon, and just at the climax of the story, “Pop! Went baby birds balloon” (last page). This lesson was that at all times we should be looking for the little things in life, like a balloon, because even if there isn’t any value to a balloon, the baby bird was horrified with the destruction of its sacred new toy. Also it was the first book I ever read, this happened because I memorized every single word and would recite it to myself before bed. I haven’t seen this book for years, but after this post I think I will go back and find this perfect text from my childhood

Technology

Since I left middle school for Olympia High, technology has become a bigger part of my life. Without a computer I can’t check my grades or look at homework assignments. School makes media required. But even if that wasn’t the case, outside of school I need a phone, or face book to communicate with friends. Sometimes it even seems without a phone I wouldn’t have much of a social life at all.

All this doesn’t mean I don’t like technology I just feel it’s to heavily relied upon, in this generation most people don’t think about it, but maybe it should be, is there a point where it becomes to much? Could it be that with all these fake worlds and, reality TV shows we will lose touch with our own reality. Instead of talking face to face there is texting and web chat, and when people used to have gatherings focused around a sport or board game, it’s all about x-box, play stations etc.

But there are also many advantages to technology that I agree with, such as the long distance relationships you can have with friends around the world, or iPods, I know I listen to mine everyday. In conclusion there are both pros and cones to our modern view of electronics, so I can’t make an over all statement on how I feel about technology.
